My IRL Holiday Gift Lists
Here is my Actual Gift List for the Little Ones and Hubby This Year (2019)
First comes Thanksgiving, then comes Black Friday, then Cyber Monday! Time to get all the holiday shopping done in one fowl swoop. Because time is of the essence and a honestly more valuable than anything you might buy, I try to get everything done as quickly and efficiently as possible. It is not always realistic to get this done in one day. However, if you get your gift lists done in advance, it makes it easier to get it done and get it done quick.
Below is my list for Little Man (age 3), Little Mama (18 months), and Hubby. As a bonus I put my own wish list, emphasis on the wish, at the bottom of the post. *Please note this post contains some affiliate links and clicking the pink link will take you directly to Amazon or other retail website. Happy Holiday Shopping Everyone!
Holiday Wish List for Little Man (3 years old)
Power Wheels Blue Jeep - we have seen other kids in the neighborhood with this and it looks like so much fun. Little Man is finally at the age where I think he can safely operate and enjoy it! I know it is a little expensive, but I think this will keep him entertained for the next few years!
KidKraft Adventure Town Railroad Table- This is the little table with the trains on it that you see at places like Barnes and Noble or in the waiting rooms at the doctors office. Little Man loves playing with this at our local Library. It is fun, stimulates pretend play, and honestly both kids can use it, so that’s a win for me.
Large Sensory Table- I know this is another table, but this one is definitely for fun play outside. Little Man’s Pre-K teacher said he enjoys playing with this at school and they put all different stuff in there like beans and sand. It allows them to practice scooping and pouring skills which helps with motor planning and development.
Melissa and Doug Wooden Rescue Cars and Garage- We already have some of the Melissa and Doug wooden cars and Little Man loves them. Because I know he already likes these types of cars I think this will be fun to add some rescue cars to the collection!
Nugget Play Couch- I heard about the Nugget Play Couch from former Real Housewife of OC, Meghan King Edmonds (surely she will be dropping the Edmonds soon). Anyway, we bought a set for Little Man’s birthday and we absolutely love them. It is basically the perfect pillows for building forts, ramps, pirate ships, whatever. We love it so much I am going to get another set so we can elevate our fort game to the next level.
Holiday Wish List for Little Mama (18 months old)
Disney Frozen Ultimate Play Castle- Obviously, Little Mama is obsessed with the first Frozen and is pumped for Frozen II coming out. Which means, she wants Frozen toys for Christmas! Because of the movie coming out, there is a ton of new merchandise, but this looked like the most fun and complete set for the Arandelle castle.
Radio Flyer Pink Toddler Trike- Every toddler needs a classic Radio Flyer tricycle! It has been loved by little ones literally for generations, which says a lot. I think Little Mama will love riding this around the neighborhood and now she has her own whip to go along with Little Man’s new power wheel.
Melissa and Doug Clean Up set- Pretend play and incorporating the kiddos into every day routines is amazing for their development. Little Mama is always trying to steal the broom (I am sure hubby is laughing at this comment because I am not the best cleaner - whoops), so this will give her an opportunity to participate in the clean up and play pretend! I really love Melissa and Doug toys. True, they are a little pricey, but absolutely worth it for the quality and non-toxic materials.
Bubble Machine- We have been going to KinderMusik and one of Little Mama’s favorite parts of class is the bubble machine. I love blowing bubbles with the kids, but I think this will be a fun addition for them and will give my lungs a little break. They love chasing the bubbles and I love watching them, so it’s an all around win.
Egg Shakers- This is another activity used in Kindermusik and Little Mama loves shaking these little eggs to the beat of the music. It is a fun beginner musical instrument and for some reason all of the little kids in her class love these the most.
Holiday List for Hubby (286 months old or something)
AirPods- I am absolutely obsessed with my AirPods. I was not sure if I was going to like them or not, but now I can’t live without them. I can multi-task while taking conference calls or listen to podcast while navigating the airport with both hands free. Hubby tried them and now he keeps stealing mine, so he will be getting his own. I think all husbands will love this gift.
Yeti Rambler with Cup- I don’t know what it is about guys, but they always seem to have a water bottle on them. Hubby takes his water bottles and hydration seriously. This Rambler is well insulated to keep that water cold (even in the summer when it gets hot AF here) and it has a cup, which honestly I just think is really cute.
Nomadic Travel Pack- Calling all dads, you need a man purse. ESPECIALLY if you are traveling with the kiddos, both you and the hubby need to have a back pack with diapers easily accessible. This way, both of you have your hands free with less bags to carry around. This back pack is really versatile and can be used for anything like fishing, hunting, boating, etc. all those outdoorsy type things.
North Face Men's Aconcagua Jacket - All the sudden it dropped almost forty degrees here and we both realized that neither us or the kids have good winter coats. It also rains a lot here, so I thought this was the perfect coat for one of those wet, winter days when its that combination of rain and sleet wintery mix.
Camping Hatchet- One of our New Year 2020 intentions is to be outside more and take the kids camping to instill an appreciation for nature early on. One thing that is an essential survival tool out there is a hatchet! Hubs already has a few, but if your man is into camping and does not have one yet, this is a fun present that I think he would enjoy!
Wish List for Me!
Oralay Women's Jacket Army Green- I think everyone probably already has this jacket, but, I saw this was on Oprah’s favorite things so now I need to have it and it looks extremely warm and cuddly.
Spanx Legging- I got a pair of these last year for Christmas and yes, a pair of leggings can -and did- change my life. I’ve been wearing them so much I need a new pair! I love the thickness, the suck in-age, and the shape it gives my body. I feel so good when I wear these and much more appropriate than thinner leggings. I will be doing a separate post on how to style them - for all occasions (because I wear them everywhere)!
Riki Skinny Lighted Mirror- This is another item I peeked on Oprah’s list of favorite things. Even before that, I have heard great things about this mirror and how the lighting really helps makeup application easier, faster, and better.
Steve Madden Daisie Dress Pump in Leopard- One of “Lindsey’s favorite things” is this Steve Madden Daisie pump in nude. I wear them all the time for work. These are my go to pumps and have been for several years. However, I would never randomly buy the leopard print, but would definitely wear them (probably with my Spanx leggings) if I got them as a gift (this is a hint for you, hubby - size 7 <3)
Adidas Original Festival Crossbody Bag- this is a reasonable price point for this very cute, sporty, and functional cross body bag. It is large enough to fit your phone and other essentials, like a snack or two. The size and design make it perfect for a trip to the park, a soccer practice with the kids, or a quick run to Target!
Well, there you have it! We are not going to get the kids everything because we are really trying to stay in budget this year, but this will be our guide to choose from. I hope you all found some good ideas on here and most importantly, be a swift, silent, and savvy shopper! It’s a jungle out there! Stay safe and Happy Holidays!
-Lindsey
